"I wanted to give you an end of cycle update. I'm headed to the University of Maryland, so I'll still be in Baltimore for the next four years. I really wanted to thank you for supporting me on this journey over the past 7 years. I always encouraged other pre-medical students to see you, because of how honest and direct you were 🙂 And your advice helped me have this great cycle!!

Please let me know if I can ever help your office in the future! I am very grateful for all the support you gave me."

"At Hopkins, I often find that many of us take advantage of people in authority who help us to achieve our goals. Yet, for some reason, when those goals are achieved, we are slow to offer gratitude to the very people who enabled them.

We only met in person a few times, but there have been distinct moments when I emailed you with desperation and panic. You always managed to take that into account and reply with an answer that alleviated my fear and made my path into the future a little bit clearer. So thank you for answering all those times when I needed help. I am very happy to report I will be attending the Baylor College of Medicine this coming Fall. In part that would not have been possible unless it was for your help."

"Thanks a ton for everything that you’ve done to help me and 5 years of steering me on the right course! I also can’t thank you enough for helping me calm my worried parents and trying to help my family and me understand the often convoluted premed process. And finally, thank you for helping me keep my hope and motivation for pursuing medical school."
“Just wanted to let you know that I got word today that I was accepted by FIU as my first acceptance! I can't believe it! This is so surreal! I'll keep you informed of any others. But I wanted to let you know as soon as I heard. Thank you for all the years of your help. I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. You have been beyond kind to me in guiding me through this process for so many years. From the shy transfer student who first entered your office to today. (I have to hold back tears writing this) thank you for always believing in me. :)”

“I am writing this email first off to THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the support you have given me throughout the years! I have officially finished all of my secondaries and not only do I feel like I have had a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders but I am so grateful for having gotten to this point.

I am trying to think back to how we first met, I think you may have come to speak at the JUMP pre-orientation or maybe it was just happenstance but WOW I am so glad that you were my advisor! You always made me feel so empowered throughout my journey as a pre-med. I love that you gave me constructive criticism when needed but also celebrated my achievements with me, I strive to be such an impactful mentor as a physician!

I have my first interview this Friday at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Long School of Medicine! I am feeling nervous but also eager to start the next phase of this process and eager to meet peers and professionals that could become a vital part of my network, just like you!

Thanks again for everything from all of the guidance to your friendship. I will keep in touch!”

“Congratulations on starting your own advising service!!!! Very excited for you.

The past few months have been chaotic in the best possible way so it completely slipped my mind to provide you with an update - I am in medical school!!!!!

A brief summary - I only had 1 interview in December (Hofstra) and then I didn't hear anything at all until end of February. I got an additional 3 interviews from Stony Brook, NYMC, and Hackensack in March/April. I was directly accepted by NYMC, and was waitlisted at all the others 🙂 Eventually I got off the waitlist for Stony Brook and Hackensack (total of 3/4 acceptances). I start orientation at Stony Brook SOM this upcoming Monday 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Ms. Snydman - thank you so so so SO MUCH for supporting me the past couple years. Our meetings and your advice made the long and difficult application process a little more bearable - it still feels surreal that my longtime dream is finally a reality. I am very grateful to have been your advisee, and I have no doubt in my mind that you will be incredibly successful with your new business.

I just connected with you on LinkedIn - best of luck with everything!”
